For one thing it is different: an operatic approach (verdi goes bach, but with respect and love) which gives it a breathtaking intensity. The quality of recording is also very good (as always with Nonesuch) and don't you believe cd becomes obsolete: downloads will never ever have this kind of quality. The same was said about CD vs. LP, but after more than 20 years LP is still superior (except for convenience).
