Daniel Taylor's ensemble Theatre of Early Music (TEM) is back in this its second recording, featuring a line-up of the finest singers in three early Bach cantatas of rich and varied instrumentation. In accordance with certain findings that shed light on the original performances of Bach?s cantatas, the works are performed here with one singer to a part in the choral sections. The advantages of this solution in expressive suppleness and for the clarity of Bach?s brilliant counterpoint are plain to hear.
| | Acknowledgements: | Thank you to the following for submitting this recording and for your comments:- Marie-Noël Laporte, ATMA classique
