The best version ever. Don't think to "jazzist" Keith Jarrett. He follows perfectly the original Bach edition.
FS:
Keith Jarrett plays a Tatsuo Takahashi 1988 that sounds realistic and vivid. His plays the Goldbergs with a slower tempo, but improvisations can be heard throughout the piece. For a slow approach of the Goldbergs, this is the version to get. The sound is quite impressive, but I wouldn't say this is the best version.
FP:
This is a peculiar version where the tempo is too slow for the instrument, which gives an impression of "amateurism" in the interpretation. Only for Keith Jarrett fans, and to hear preferably as a first audition of this Variations, otherwise, the disappointment is guaranteed. |
