An excellent performance spoiled by bad recording. It sounds like I'm sitting in the last row of a concert. I prefer recordings that sound like the musicians are in the room withe me.
But the performance is excellent. I enjoy Jaap ter Linden very much on the various recordings on which I have heard him and in concert, as well. Richard Egarr is and outstanding harpsichordist. His lively playing makes for delightful listening. Unfortunately I can't hear him as well as I'd like on this recording because of the sound. This won't take the place of my favorite recording of these works but you could do a lot worse. The performance is great.
