Is it possible for a recording to be both serene and exciting? It sounds contradictory but the answer is yes.
Abram Bezuijen's impressive technique puts him in the league of world-class performers of the Goldberg Variations. Although written for harpsichord, this work easily translates to organ and the result is gorgeous. The sounds of the organ beautifully mix the intricate and energetic counterpoint of the Goldberg Variations. At times large and majestic, at other times intimate and lovely. Hence, I found the performance both serene and exciting. A unique and recommended addition to the recordings of the Goldberg Variations.

Played on the Schnitger-organ at Weener (BRD). The recording sounds very natural and the performer really knows how to play Goldberg. 24 page booklet in Dutch, English and German
