Comments:Overall, these recordings of various instrumental movements of Bach's Cantatas are not bad. In fact, the trumpet solos are wonderful and
very lively. The tempos are taken well and the pieces seem balanced. My only complaint is that E. Power Biggs' playing on quick passages (e.g. "Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir") is very choppy. Every recording of his seems to be this way, and for this reason I tend to stay away from his recordings (This is overly evident on his recording of Vierne's 'Finale' from Organ Symphony No. 1). Otherwise, these are good recordings of some of Bach's most beautiful orchestral works.
