The highlights of this all Bach CD are the Prelude, Fugue and Allegro; and the Partita no.2; the Lute Suite no. 4 is excellent, the Chorale Preludes are very good.
Some guitar fans may quibble about how good Russell's Chaconne is or is not, while missing the oerall beauty of the transcribed Partita no.2. To me, David Russell's playing is technically assured, his phrasing very musical and stylish, much in the manner of Nathan Milstein or Henryk Szeryng on the violin in the Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin.
All of the pieces are transcriptions, all done by David Russell. Strongly recommended.
