Review by Jan Hanford: Performance: Excellent Recording: Gorgeous Transcription for flute of the Unaccompanied Cello Suites. Leendert De Jonge's performance is a revelation, with excellent tempos, articulation and phrasing. These delightful melodies so familiar to us on the cello are as lovely on the flute. Part of the genius of Bach is that his music translates so easily from instrument to instrument, in this case combined with the extraordinarly talent of Mr. De Jonge. Sadly, this astonishingly beautiful cd is out of print and very difficult to find. I would love to see another label release this recording for world-wide distribution.
