| Comments: | Definitely NOT for purists, this recording is an example of the way pianists in the 19th century played Bach: full sound, careful use of sustaining pedal, and personal vision. As usual, de Larrocha's sound is DIVINE, and thus makes this a most enjoyable recording. Again, this is not a recording for purists but by her individuality, de Larrocha's illustrates how lesser pianists of the late 20th c. have become predictable literalists in their interpretation of Bach on the piano. |
