This album is the second part of Gerhard Dickel's last great recording before retiring from the organ bench of St. Michaelis. The performance scheme of the first album (Advent & Christmas) is slightly altered. The cast has been extended by a chamber choir formed of members of St. Michaelis Youth Choir and of the fabulous Peter and Paul Choir, St. Petersburg (Russia), frequently guest in the hamburg sacred music scene. Like the first album the vocal interpretation helps a lot to understand the organ pieces. Gerhard Dickel proves once again being one of the most remarkable and most inspiring Bach interprets of our days. |
