| Comments: | An old monoral recording, but the sound is very clear and enjoyable, to say the least. The late Russian pianinst is the second (first is Edwin Fisher) to record the entire piece. Some of the preludes and fuges contain astonishingly vivid moments, which I think exceed those in performances of Gould, Gulda or Richter's. The book 2 is much better. |
