Comments:MG: Original instruments (cembalo, strings).

JH: Reinhard Goebel has a tendency to play too fast but not in this case. The performance is lively and delicate. A truly excellent recording.
TS: Most recordings of Die Kunst omit the canons, probably because of time limitations. The up tempos of this recording allow their inclusion and also make this the most musical of the four recordings with which I am familiar.
MO:
A High Quality Recording .Very Good Artists playing Die Kunst in a professional Manner (Goebel ,Staier). Including in this Recording are a Cembalo-Arrangement of Contrapunctus XII .Also the Canons. The instrumentation is the original one for Die Kunst der Fuge.
