A very fine rendition of the oft recorded orchestral suites is joined by a rarity in BWV 1045 (a bit of lost cantata, probably) and three cantata sinfonias. Highly recommended.

I wanted a boxed set of the 4 suites, this was the only one I could find. As I have other music by this label, I knew the recordings would be "authentic" and not the "souped up job" that some people do to embellish the actual written score. Excellent recording, good cover notes by Stephen Daw, and well performed, of course the Air from suite #3 being the favourite of many listeners, may take them a little by surprise as this is the original orchestral score. A great addition to my classical collection.
