Harnoncourt was in the vanguard of the movement to present baroque works in their original instrumentation. In addition to being an accomplished scholar, he is a sensitive musician and renders a convincing performance of how Bach might have expected his music to sound. The sonics of the recording and the quality of the vinyl pressing are first rate.
