This reissue/compilation of Harnoncourt's renditions of Bach violin concerti lives up to the usual standards. The music is lovingly performed, although on occasion the playing seems mannered and calls attention to the "authentic" performance style rather than to the music.

The reconstructions are not, in my view, quite as successful as the three fully-Bachian
