It goes without saying this recording is incredibly beautiful. Hazelzet is one of those extraordinary musicians whose recordings I buy at sight, knowing it is going to be fabulous. I found this recording sigificant because it contains the rarely recored Trio Sonata BWV 1037. It had originally been incorrectly attributed to Bach and even given its own BWV number. But subsequently is was discovered to have been composed by Bach's student, Johann Gottlieb Goldberg. Yes, that Goldberg of The Goldberg Variations. An exquisite work, the Trio Sonata deserves to be recorded and heard more, even if it's not by J.S. Bach. The rest of the recording is equally lovely and I highly recommend it.
