This cd contains some of Bach's most inspired organ music. Christopher Herrick is again teamed up with the brilliant recording engineer Paul Niederberger. The sound quality is, as usual, flawless. The liner notes are superb and provide much information to help the listener better appreciate what he/she is hearing.
Herrick's fluency really shines on this disc, which is one of my favorites. I can't think of a better organ series than Herrick's, and "The Great Fantasias, Preludes, and Fugues" may just be the best of this series. Hyperion fills up this disc with true gems (clocking in at 150 minutes, three seconds). Highly recommeded, I would certainly consider it essential to any Bach collection).
