Today's leading oboist performs with one of the leading ensembles, and yes the recording lives up to the high expectations. Crisp phrasing and articulation is what we expect from ASMF, and it combines well with Holliger's oboe. That the concerti are all reconstructions hardly matters given such a performance.

I buy anything by Heinz Holiger, he is simply one of the best musicians ever. His performance of these works is beautiful. A highly recommended recording.
