A good recording of the Goldberg Variations and the Four Duets; very crisp and clear interpretation.

The 1999 death of Christianne Jaccottet was a real loss the world music and of Bach. Her performances are consistently excellent; I buy everything I can find recorded by her. This performance of the Goldberg Variations and Four Duets is no exception. Without the repeats, the Goldberg Variations shrinks in length but also moves along with more energy. I enjoyed it.

Lovely interpretation, intelligent tempos, beautifully recorded sound: highly recommended.

I bought this CD on a lark a long time ago. It's one of my favorite Goldberg recordings. Very articulate, precise but still warm. Ms. Jacottete was a pioneer in Early music recording. This recording and the Goldbergs, like Ms. Jaccottete, now belong to the ages.
