Now, here is yet another Goldberg Varitaions recording. But it is not just another one. In his Bach playing Ivo Janssen combines the qualities of the modern grand piano with an almost cembalo-like approach. His performance really adds something to the dozens that already exist. By the way, this is only the first in a series of CD's, that will eventually include all of Bachs works!

Really a very refreshing recording....I already knew recordings from Gould and Charles Rosen, 2 of my favorite Bachplayers, so I was a littlebit sceptic when hearing this recording for the first time. I never thought that someone could play the goldbergvariations like he did....almost perfect! And the sound of the grand-piano( which is a Yamaha CF111) is almost like a live-performance
