When I bought this disc, I was a bit worried when I saw that some one else played 565. I thought to myself, "Was Lehotka not able to play 565?". Contrary to my thoughts Lehotka plays a few peices that a more complex than Kastner's (supposed to be Kaestner w/o the dots!) 565. Lehotka made the boring 552 Prelude quite enjoyable by: Moving the tempo up, and frequently changing registration. BWV 561 sounds alot better than Hurford's interpretation. The chorales are quite nice and so is BWV 578. I reccomend this CD to anyone who "is short of cash and craves that Godly organ sound!" |
