An excellent recording of both Anna Magdalena Notebooks. Igor Kipnis alternates between harpichord and clavichord and the results are lovely. His excessive ornamentation and eccentric rhythmic variation is sometimes a distraction but, overall, the performance is excellent. The works with voice, harpsichord and gamba are complete perfection. The booklet is filled with excellent, detailed information but requires a magnifying glass to read. There are so few complete recordings of both Notebooks that it is a pleasure to recommend this wonderful performance.
