It is very exciting that this historic treasure has finally been relased on cd (hopefully they will release book 2 as well). This is one of the earliest recordings of the clavichord, Ralph Kirkpatrick was a leader in musicology (he re-cataloged all of the Scarlatti sonatas) and early performance style. His interpretation is vibrant and breathes life and energy into the Well-Tempered Clavier. The sound is excellent and beautifully mastered from the old analog mono recording.
