These JS Bach Transcriptions for Marimba mark a new era in Bach transcriptions. These works, transcribed by the performer himself, provide a profound example of how incredibly Bach's music can transfer between mediums. Mr. Merola's clever interpretation and arrangement is thought provoking as well.

This recording is riddled with note errors. I cannot believe this young man is actually selling this recording. Anyone who knows Bach will cringe while listening. It is not an interpretation problem, although PJ seems to have little knowledge as to Bach phrasing. Many of Bach's notes have been learned wrong - particularly in the G Minor Sonata Fugue. Horrible.

Very Nice. I have never heard such an arrangment in a simple and clear way as this is. I'm very surprised to hear someone on this page they thought it to be bad. The recording has a live and breathing nature to it that even if there are bad notes (which I didnt hear at all!) it is still very musical and elegant, which is what music is all about!!! Bravo |
