His approach to Bach is fairly conventional. Although tuned to A440, the gut strings on his del Gesu give it a darker, less penetrating tone than most 'modern instrujment' recordings. There are a few rough spots, such as the treacherous high register passage in the C Major Allegro, but overall an excellent set.
