THE historical document! Guenther Ramin is one of the successors of J.S.Bach as Thomas - Cantor. The Thomaner-Chor was Bach`s own chorus in Leipzig/Germany. These recordings have THE spirit of J.S. Bach. You hear the genius loci as You may never have heard it before. The technic of the 1950er years is, monaural and ADD.( The modern DDD-technic alone doesn`t make a better music!) the price is about 60 USD for the 9 CD`s.
Sorry for the repetition: These belong to the best cantata-recordings You can buy. In my collection I`ve got a dozen of conductors and recordings of cantatas in DDD-stereo, but what I use to hear is G. Ramin. |
