All instruments and tuning were authentic to Bach's time as possible. Robson goes into detail about this and other aspects of the reconstructions in the enclosed booklet. Sinfonia of Cantata "Ich hatte viel Bekummernis" was astonishing-I always figured Bach could write for oboe this well. Recording of Flute, Violin & Harpsichord Concerto was excellent. Reconstructions were quite good-though I would have preferred more ornamentation on the Oboe parts-but to hear it on a baroque oboe made up for this very minor disappointment. |
