| Comments: | JY:
Rather than approach the great baroque music as museum pieces, in an attempt to re-create period conditions and performances, POSTCARDS re-imagine the body of this music in light of current tastes and technology. The group's recording of the Bach violin concerti combines a decidedly modern take on the violin solo with a continuo which is state-of-the-art, studio-generated sounds combined with a virtuosic orchestral tutti. The result is a classical fusion which communicates the true spirit of this music. |
