Although his tempos are a little slower than I prefer, his playing is very nice for the most part. A painful exception is the Adagio from Trio Sonata No. 3 BWV 527, in which he uses a high, shrill stop on the organ that hurt my ears and gave me a headache. The Trio Sonatas are so lovely that I think a lot of the details are obscured in organ performances and I prefer transcriptions like those by Wilbert Hazelzet, Musica Pacifica and The Purcell Quartet. |
