Zuzana Ruzickova is generally regarded as one of the world's foremost harpsichord players of our time. Josef Suk is an excellent interpreter of Czech music. The present joint project of J. Suk a Z. Ruzickova embodies the long years of maturing undergone by the two artists in constant interaction with the great master's work.

This is an ammendment to an incorrect entry.
The recording date is listed as 1998. You should be aware that this is a very much older recording, I remember listening to it as a Supraphon release in the mid-1960s. The comments about Miss Ruzickova's reputation as "one of the world's foremost harpsichord players of our time" may have been true in 1965 but should not be quoted out of context!

This is a correction to comments by John Downes:
This recording was indeed made in 1998. Ruzickova and Suk recorded four complete editions of these sonatas: first for Supraphon in 1963, then for Erato in 1969, then a Denon/Supraphon co-production in 1986 and finally for Lotos in 1998. |
