These relatively early, unpublished recordings show Elisabeth Schwarzkopf at her best. The voice is clear, the diction is always perfectly balanced and the sound is warm and moving. This is not an "historically informed" recording in the strict sense, but Bach made flesh and blood from sensitively acting musicians. |
