Stern and Perlman are certainly two of the best violisints of the twentieth century! They play the double concerto together on this CD. This is a must have! (Not to mention that the first movement of the A Minor concerto is the SC All State peice this year!

I have heard about 5 other versions of the Three Violin Concerti and this is the best one I have heard! I recomend this to anyone looking for these songs, it is a "must have." Issac Stern and Itzhak Perlman present these songs excellently, and understand how to truly present Bachs complex music. In the E Major and A Minor, Stern brings out the solo and exagerates the music, which makes it sound all the better. In the D Minor, Stern and Perlman present a serious tone in their playing, and understand each other very well. The Orchestras are also quite talented. The sound quality is also very clear and crisp, and you can sometimes hear Stern taking breaths. |
