One of my favorite versions of the concerti, together with the much different Enescu / Menuhin recordings. Szering's violin seems like a natural extension of his body. His tone is ideal for the music and he has a feeling for Bach that comes from inside. Fortunately Sir Neville Marriner understands that and keeps a low profile, letting the music speak for itself. A magnificent disc. |
